Steps procedure and voting center

Good day to you my fellow Nigerians, as you all know that 2019 General election is around the corner, and infact less than 131 hours, are you aware that there are procedures you must follow to make this election credible? do you know the first thing you need to do on arriving at the polling unit? do you even know your polling unit? do you also know that without PVC, you have a role to play in making this election acceptable, credible, free, and fair? in other not to stress you, I have compiled some of the things you need to know concerning this year election:

1. the polling process shall involve accreditation and voting. in this year election you are voting immediately after you have been accredited unlike the previous elections whereby you can't vote until accreditation finished.

2. on arriving at the polling unit, you are to check the Electronic Voter Register  (EVR) whether your name is in the lists and to confirm if that is your polling unit.

3. election will start by 8am and close at 2pm. you are to be on the queue to maintain orderliness.
***There shall be a queue for people with disabilities (PWDs), visually impaired/blind, old people, and pregnant women. Pls bear with INEC officials concerning these categories of people.

4. for you to be accredited, you're to join the queue before 2pm. anybody who is not on the queue after 2pm would not be allowed to join the queue. which means you will not be accredited.

5. if you are not accredited, you will not vote.

6. you're to check your PVC to see if you are in your polling unit and if not, you are advised to go to the polling unit allotted to you.

7. in the process of accreditation, if the smart card reader does not read your PVC, you would not be accredited to vote.

8. if the card reader successfully read your PVC but failed to authenticate your fingerprint, please don't panic, you will still be able to vote.

 9. if you are successfully accredited, you shall immediately proceed to cast your vote and exit the polling unit.

10. to avoid render your vote invalid, you will be issued with a stamped, signed and dated ballot paper. please cross checked that the ballot paper given to you is stamped, dated, and signed at the back.

11. to avoid render your vote invalid, when casting your vote, make sure that you thumb-print in only one box,  that is the box of your chosen party.

 12. To make your vote secret and to ensure that your thumb-printing does not smear on another party thereby render your vote invalid, roll your ballot paper inward after thumb-printing, then flatten it and slide into the ballot box.

13. please do not take your phones or any photographic device into the voting cubicle.

14. you're not to show your vote to any one.

15. do not accept money for your vote.
16. to avoid render your vote invalid, do not write any mark apart from your thumb-print on the ballot paper.
please cooperate wit INEC officials so that we can all complete this exercise in good time.

As a good citizen of Nigeria, as a student of political science in particular, we can serve as the eyes through which the country, continent, and the world at large see INEC.. let make this year election CREDIBLE, FREE, FAIR, IMPARTIAL AND TRANSPARENT by exercising our franchise and educating others.
