    Apa local government of Benue State was created in 1991 by the then military head of state of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida; covering what was the old Ochekwu district of Otukpo division.

    Boundaries:

    Benue State shared borders

        To the North Agatu,
        To the South [ur=https://naijasky.com/oturkpol]Otukpo[/url] and
        To the East Gwer West local government areas of Benue State

    Kogi State shared borders

        To the West, Ankpa Local Government Area, and
        To the West, Omala Local Government Area

    Agricultural produce:

    Main farm produce from Apa Local Government are:

        Cassava,
        Maize,
        Yam,
        Melon, and
        Guinea-corn.

    Mineral Resources:

        Gypsum,
        Limestone, and
        Salt

    The found mineral resources in Apa local government area great potential for commercial exploration.



    Towns and villages:

        Ugboko,
        Iga-Okpaya,
        Ikobi,
        Odugbo,
        Oiji,
        Ofoke,
        Oba Alifeti,
        Idada,
        Ojantela,
        Edikwu-Icho, and
        Ogbobi.

    Languages:Idoma language.



     Its headquarters is at Ogbokpo. It is one of the 9 local government areas in the southern senatorial zone which is majorly occupied by the Idoma people of Benue State
