Enyeama returns to training

Vincent Enyeama, former Super Eagles Captain and Lille Metropole of France goalkeeper,  has admitted he is truly excited to return to training with the Ligue 1 club, following six months out with injury.

Enyeama’s fitness issues coincided with a decision by the club’s new manager, Marcelo Bielsa to axe the former Super Eagles captain from Lille’s main squad, but the Argentine gaffer has apparently taken a change of heart on the issue.

Bielsa has handed Enyeama a lifeline by allowing him back in training with the main team, after a six-month injury lay off, during which the shot-stopper took time out to undergo surgery.

The operation came shortly after Enyeama and 11 other players in the club were deemed surplus to requirements by Bielsa, upon his appointment as coach of the team in the summer.

However, the 35-year-old Enyeama could not make a much-expected transfer move, as he was recuperating from the meniscus surgery he had towards the end of last season.

Now fully recovered, an excited Enyeama posted a video of himself back in training with the team for the first time in six months, with great expectations of also making a return to the Super Eagles ahead of their World Cup preparations.
