Good morning all,

Today, I present the Volume 4, page 22, from the Concept:

*"GOLDEN MOMENT OF INSPIRATION"*

*FIGHTING COMPETITORS.*

1. Competition is good. It brings out the very best products and services because it puts individual marketers on their toes. It banishes complacency. The mediocres soon exit the market.

2. The best place to start a new company isn't so much where competitors are absent as in where they are many.

Reason: you do not have to create fresh demands for your goods and services.

Your next goal is to take over the market.

3. When your sales are low, when business is bad, the correct interpretation is that you are having a lower share of the market; that you are on your way out of the market.

This is when you must go back to the drawing board.

4. The first step in fighting back, the finest strategy in regaining hold of your customers, is to look within. If you search within you'll uncover the problem, you'll discover the solution.

5. All strength are within. The problems is within, not with the economy, government, or competitors. Where the problem is, the solution can be found. There will never be a problem that has no solution.

6. No sane person has ever won marketing wars by destroying competitors. The salutary  approach is to evaluate your own competitive advantages, you strengthen your strategy. Strategy is better than energy.

7. Here's the universal Solution: You institute daily improvements in price, products and services, channels of distribution, promotions, people, packaging, service quality, intelligent allocation of resources. You improve the entire ten marketing mix.  This is the winning formula. 

8. This is the foolish thing to do: Aim to destroy competitors!

You must never take your focus away from internal quality improvements. The key is to mind your business.

9. Focusing on what your competitors are doing always invites weakness, not strength. You attract  worry and panic when you pay undue attention to your competitors.

10. Always seek to bring focus to bear on your internal improvements, making daily, small, incremental, positive changes.

11. It's the compounding effects of ceaseless improvements in the marketing mix that eventually tilts the scale to your side.

13. Competitors are not enemies. Destroying them cannot promote your business.

14. To win, learn better, know better, think better, do better, perform better, and get better everyday in every way!
