1.   Adequate functional number of teeth is necessary for proper digestion. And you will agree that if there is a source of pain from any of your teeth, digestion will be inadequate and improper. Inadequate and improper digestion of food means food of no nutritional value to the body. If the food is not thoroughly digested, it cannot be absorbed into the body.
It is therefore important and necessary for the old people who have lost their teeth to replace those teeth with Denture (artificial teeth). This will help them to digest food substances and make those foods available for the usefulness of the body. Not only the aged, anyone that has lost teeth should replace such missing teeth for same purpose. What affect the teeth obviously directly or indirectly affect the whole body.
2.   The importance of teeth in syllable pronunciation is appreciated from how it affects children before the eruption of permanent teeth. This can also be notice from the pronunciation of old people e\who have lost teeth. To maintain a good speaking habit, a missing teeth should be replaced, however, it better to prevent teeth from extraction. The old people should be helped to replace missing teeth to aid speaking.
3.   Beauty actually starts from the face. To maintain facial appearances and curvature teeth play an important role cheeks collapse when teeth are missing. This is common in old people.
It is unfortunate that certain group of people have associated missing teeth with old age
In the opinion of these people, missing teeth should not be replaced in old people. From the above discussion, it is obvious that replacing missing teeth is a necessity for the well-being of the body.
4.   Plaque and Calcium are what people outside Dental profession called mouth dirt. This mouth actually inhabits small germs called bacteria. These bacteria cause teeth decay. The bacteria actually produce concentrated acid which does the destruction of the teeth substance. These bacteria can get into the blood stream and carry to other part of the body. These types of bacteria can actually cause bacteria endocardition in the heart.
Plague & Calcium also cause Halitosis called mouth odour. Infant Calcium is one of the major causes of mouth. Mouth odour is a significant social embarrassment. Other causes of mouth odour are:
-   Inadequate or wrong brush technique
-   Decay teeth or carious cavity
-   Infection of soft tissue of the mouth
-   Respiratory infection
-   Digestion tract infection
-   Sinusitis
5.   As mentioned above, calculus must be removed from the teeth. However, calculus cannot be removed by tooth brushing at home through professional techniques called scaling & polishing.  Calculus stains & discolour the teeth by strongly adhere to the surface of the teeth. Calculus can be removed by a professional in Dental Clinic. If you therefore have a discoloured tooth, it is advisable to visit a Dentist. A Dentist will tell you the proper diagnosis of the discolouration.
