Zero-interest HealthCare facility for patients
 Offering interest-free loans to patients.

This facility is available in all states and local councils nationwide in Nigeria.
“In Nigeria, we face issues where people cannot access high quality care due to cost. We have come up with an innovative plan to help people who are in immediate need of finances, particularly with no interest for the first year.
This is a social healthcare support which offers loans for medical treatment to people who do not have health insurance, using risk assessment tools. The support model is structured so that it directly pays the medical bills of an individual to the hospital or the healthcare service provider.

Patients can borrow money either in the form of direct financial loans or in the form of loan cards, with an embedded pre-approved loan.

“Whenever people have a medical emergency, they have to pay out of their pocket, but they do not have that money. If they are not able to take a health insurance, they can take an SHS card which has a pre-approved loan, based on their ability to pay.
It can be used by the cardholder and up to five family members. They can carry this like a cashless insurance card.We are creating an alternative to insurance.“
The services are available in towns, cities and states and has more than 3000 care providers on its platform, including the likes of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. The startup will also provide direct financial loans of N200,000  for a period of 12 months. The loan tenure is from six months to 48 months 0% interest rate for one year, 5% for two years, 7% for three years, 8% for four years. A processing charge of 2.5% on loan amount is applicable.

Discount HealthCare Programs

Discount healthcare programs are not insurance. The discount programs typically sell cards that provide members with discounts for health care services from participating physicians and providers. The program member is responsible for paying the full discounted cost of the medical treatment. The programs can provide a value to consumers who do not have health insurance by helping to reduce the out-of pocket cost of health care.

Consumers should also make sure their doctors, dentists, and other health care providers accept the program and offer discounts before buying a discount health care program.
clip Direct Patients to Specialists
May 24, 2018, 06:14:39 AM by Isaac Adeniran

Who we are...

DISDOC is the patient to specialist (P2S) direct access web
A transparent, discounted affordable option for patients to go directly to specialists? And that’s where disdoc came from: the idea of simplifying.”What we do...
We connects patients needing urgent medical care directly to a choice of specialists without requiring a referral, insurance paperwork or having to wait many months for an appointment.

Why it matters...

The bureaucracy of today's overburdened healthcare system makes it impossible for a patient requiring urgent medical care to immediately get an appointment with the best specialist for their needs.
Why it's better...

Patients in need of urgent medical care are immediately granted direct access to a choice of the best specialists and instantly offered an accelerated appointment date with virtually no wait time.

How it works...

Doctors join the directory for free. Doctors must be REGISTERED with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, in active practice, and affiliated with a hospital to participate. They are ranked only by location and availability. Patients pay N30,000 for the initial appointment. All subsequent care can be through insurance.

How DISDOC makes money...

DISDOC makes N2,5OO per patient transaction. Patients pay N5,000 for the appointment hold, and N25,000 after the completed appointment.

Disdoc works with medical, dental and optical specialists in all health specialist fields such as neurosurgery, gynecology, pain management, general surgery, and more.
They’re all available for express appointments at a flat rate of N5 000, which patients pay out-of-pocket.

The model is set up for initial appointments with a specialist; after that, all care will be between the patient and the specialist. Primary care doctors are also part of the program.

“I purposely set the price at a value price,”  the founder explains. “I’m asking my doctors, ‘I want you to see this patient and I want you to take less money for this patient—but in exchange, they’ll pay you cash, and you’re going to provide direct access.’ And to a person, every surgeon said, ‘Great idea.'”

It’s because healthcare has become so complicated, dominated by paperwork and insurance and referrals, that the patient is “no longer the one that’s important.”

“I think that we have evolved a system that is so bureaucratic and cost conscious…that we’ve forgotten about the simple stuff,” director says. “I think that because we keep pushing the doctor and patient farther and father apart from one another, and we separate it by layers, that we’ve kind of lost sight of [the patient being important.]”

With Disdoc—a name meant to evoke a surgeon who is always on call—we hopes there’s nothing breaking up doctor-patient access.

The soft launch has been successful thus far, but we plan to eventually lower the N5,000 price tag and pull back the curtain on medical expenses even further, as well as expand the area served by Dicdoc. As of now, most of the doctors are stationed in state capitals nationwide.“My ultimate goal is that we lower the price for patients. We stop the nonsense. The whole system—make it transparent, stop the silliness,” “Just do our job, you know?”
