Tips For Success for Mobile Phone Marketing

Are you looking to get started in mobile phone marketing? Great, you’ve made a wise choice as you’ve happened upon one of the largest and fastest growing industries. It’s predicted that 8 trillion text messages was expected to be sent in 2011 and advertising spending will grow to $5 billion by 2015. Mobile marketing is one of the fastest and easiest ways entrepreneurs can grow their businesses as globally mobile handset are about 5.3 billion. Here are some mobile marketing tips that can make this new marketing medium work for your business.
 1. How do you want mobile phone marketing to help your business?
Maybe you’re looking for branding opportunities, or ways to improve your market shares.Maybe you just want to improve traffic on slow days. Or maybe you need to increase your sales or find new ways to interact with your customers.
 2. Determine your target market
You need to know this. You may want to target stay at home moms, business people or teenagers.
3. Decide the type of messages you want to send
You can decide in advance how often you will send messages, what time of the day and how many you’ll send in a week.
I suggest once a week or even better, 2 to 3 times a month. This way when customers get the messages, they know if they miss taking advantage of this offer, the next one isn’t right around the corner.
 4. Find a mobile phone marketing vendor
Okay, once you know your target market and the types of messages you want to send, you now need a phone vendor. Find one with phone support. Check out their available plans and moblie marketing features to see if they meet your needs.
 5. Get customers on your list
You can get customers in one of two ways;
Off-line: Hand out flyers with receipts.Put up signs at your business place.Get your cashiers to verbally tell everyone they talk to about the new list. Remember, there has to be something very good in it for the customer so they will want to sign up.
Online:Ask people to opt in to your list. When they opt-in, they give you permission to communicate with them. A mobile list is one of your best assets and you should make every effort to grow it.Entice clients to opt-in and send out marketing messages that are beneficial to your target audience.
 6. Send out smoking-hot deals
It’s important to send out smoking-hot deals that your customers just can’t refuse. You have to make them eager to get text messages from you.
 7. Reward your customers
Treat your customers really special.Don’t just send them the regular old coupons and specials, send them terrific offers. Reward the people who opt-in to your list with offers they can only get from their cell phone and rest assured that you’ll be raking in higher sales and profits. The three highest converting offers for text message marketing are “Buy One, Get One” “FREE” “Dollar Amount Off”.
8. Promote your call to action
If you don’t promote the mobile call to action you’ll have no one signing up.Most mobile users are spontaneous. So ask them to call, send a text or visit your store. Make use of your existing marketing methods, Facebook page, Twitter, print and direct mail by adding the call to action. Seriously,it’s a waste of time to send a text that has no instructions or directions to users.
 9. Get help from your customers to spread the message
People really like to share deals and offers they receive with their friends. So, at the end of each text ad message make sure to include the words” FWD 2 a friend.”Your offer could go viral in no time and spread much further than just your own database list and you know what that means, cha-ching!
10. Track your results and tweak your campaigns
Do this as you see fit to keep results in line with your stated goal.
